Presentation:Security in the Workplace

This program will enhance awareness of steps to be taken in addressing:

  • Police sensitivity issues
  • Crime prevention and conducting investigation into workplace safety
  • Security measures for large events, such as gathering or athletics
  • Approaches for handling workplace violence & responding to active shooter situations

The presentation will be followed by a Q & A period

 

 

Presented by: Eddie Lee Washington, Executive Director of the Division of Public Safety and Security at University of Michigan

Director Washington  holds an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Wayne County Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from William Tyndale College, in addition to completing  Executive Leadership Program offered by the Naval Postgraduate School and he is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, as well as the 218thSession of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

 

He has an extensive background in security and his background includes service in role including: former director of the Michigan State Police, Homeland Security Policy Advisor for the University of Michigan, and Senior Security Policy Advisor for Dow Chemical.

 

He has chaired the Michigan Homeland Protection Board, the Michigan Public Safety Interoperability Board, the Auto Theft Prevention Authority, and the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center Advisory Board. He was also a member of the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards.
