October Lunch Meeting

Cybersecurity: How Organizations and Their HR Teams Can Protect Themselves and Their Employees

We understand how to prevent fires, how to secure our teams during tornadoes but we haven’t been prepared for cyber events and cannot perceive the damage they directly cause. Information security awareness helps to keep sensitive data remain secure.

Learn how to implement user education that goes beyond simple training awareness of current threats, so that your organization can minimize impact of a cyber event or incident. Find out how alternatives to simply policy enforcement and using experience-based training (both end user awareness and practice) dramatically reduces cyber events compared with commonly used security strategies.

The bottom line to cybersecurity in the workplace: hackers don’t hack networks; hackers hack people. If your people are not engaged with information technology and security specialists and are not honing their habits and thinking about their part in securing your network security, you may not be as safe as you think!

By attending this session, participants will:
• Identify common mistakes users make that allow hackers in your networks 7 most common mistakes
• Learn how to become a cybersecurity ambassador (no tech required!)
• Learn how to reinforce a culture focused on keeping everyone’s—client, staff, and company—data secure.
